I have a backup right? right?!?!
Someday very soon I hope to have full backups of my journal(s). If you do a search from my journal on "corewar" it should have a number of hits on my [info]ref_corewar community. Unfortunately most of the entries in that community disappeared today. Luckily I came across a related thread here. Before that I thought it might have been a [info]logjam bug. Eventually [info]evan will have journal archiving polished up in logjam and I'll have backups... [Monday]... after a few goodnights of sleep LJ's servers seem to have replicated my entries.

Hi. I'm the guy who wrote some tutorials one summer for you when Myrus was on Bank Street. Yeah, me, the big brown guy. I tried to send you an email at alexanderwait@livejournal.com, but I wonder if you ever check that address. Do you want me to try again?

I'm trying to remain pseudonymous with this namo_mandos identity, hence the indirect identification. I have a blog but don't use it much at all.

Yours, trying to get in touch,
--Mandos.

Yes-- I got your email. Sorry I've been too busy to reply. I promise to write soon, OK?

I am a strange 16 year old looking to find some help in my search for the thing called science that I love sooo much. I am going to be a senior in Highschool and was wondering a bunch about stuff. I don't want you to help me in my search but it would be helpful if you could. What I want is some suggestions on where to pick up some information. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Arthur! Welcome to my web-log. Sorry I haven't updated or replied in a while but I just moved recently (and I got engaged)! I've been thinking about doing some kind of on-line reading club. Are you interested? The first book I'd suggest is "Stairway to the Mind" (It's less than ten bucks, used, at Amazon and that includes shipping.) See LJ:REF_BOOKS:8377.

I found the review at the web-site of John William Schmidt. Other interesting books we could read (that he reviewed) are here.

My idea is to discuss a different book every month. I've set up a community: [info]artificialsouls.

I am really interested in the online book club. I've been using all this spare time doing nothing but adapting to the boorish books that school employs; Science is more my thing. I guess I would like to employ my thoughts more on the idea of quantum mechanics. It has captivated me for a long while now. As for the books; thanks a lot! The links are really helpful. Perhaps I can participate in these discussions in the future.
Congratulations on the engagement!
May good fortune smile upon thee!

I have had no time for "book clubs" but I did post something fun in [info]ref_corewar. You can try it if you have a Linux box! The plan is to simulate a quantum mechanical version of "corewar" and see what sort of creatures are possible...

PS. RE. Congratulations-- thanks!
